Bring It On

DSC_7896 hey laura.jpgDSC_7894

This beauty right here is my friend Laura, she was sweet enough to let me take some pictures of her and I wanted to show you guys how cute she is! We used to work together and I instantly fell in love with her style, which is how she got the nickname "tumblr girl". We constantly find ourselves switching styles and unintentionally dressing like each other. She's one of my favorite people to shop with(for obvious reasons) and I can always count on her for a little inspiration. Hope you guys enjoy the little features and i'm sure you guys will see Laura again soon! Lets see if we can get her to talk about her style and share some of her favorite trends for the summer.

Spring Affair

DSC_7938DSC_7937 DSC_7877DSC_7954 DSC_7946

Moving forward into Spring/Summer I've had a little craving for pastels and prints. I rarely shop at American Apparel mostly because there isn't one that close to me and because the guilt I'll feel for spending thirty dollars on a basic shirt, which I can appreciate because I'll get plenty of uses out of it but I'm a bit of a bargain shopper when it comes to clothes and well most things I have to pay for. I went last week to AA and found this pastel pink crop top and couldn't find it in my heart to put it back on the rack, I had tried on shorts hoping I'd find a good pair but the style I liked were out in my size so maybe it was a good thing for my wallet. I also have only worn these pants once which is crazy because they're so comfy and classic. I almost feel like housewife in them. The last time I wore them I wore a white shirt tucked in but todays weather was perfect for a loose crop and I decided to just go with it. I did some walking around with my friends so this outfit was perfect and although I look mad(extra love from the sun + naturally giving face all the time) in most of these pictures I was enjoying my time off from work and the time I was spending with my girlfriends. You guys are in for a treat later this week, I took pictures of my friend Laura who is basically a real life tumblr girl when it comes to style. So I thought it'd be fun to feature her and hopefully more people who inspire me. Until next time, byeee <3

Meeting Ascot and Hart

DSC_7668DSC_7682DSC_7675DSC_7693 DSC_7677DSC_7683

Hello beauties! I just got back home from Austin less than two hours ago and wanted to tell you guys about SXSW. This is my second year attending the festival and I had such a great time, everyone was so nice and fun. I met some really cool people and photographers while I explored 6th street with my friend. We were there from Wednesday-Saturday morning so we were able to go to a good amount of shows and explore my favorite city. I went to the pop shop Laura and Jen from Ascot + Hart were having(thanks to Shelby for letting me know that they were going to be in Austin and for introducing me to their blog!). I've been following their blog and Instagram for inspiration and fell in love with both of them. I wasn't sure how lame it would be to fan girl over bloggers but I had a little moment. They were both so sweet and down to earth, and such babes. I also met Amanda whom is friends with Jen. She had taken a street style picture of me Wednesday and it was crazy running into her again, small world right? For obvious reasons I fell in love with her style, she's an LA based blogger and she has her own shop! We ended up showing Amanda how to ride the bus and then headed back to 6th street to find free shows I could get into. If you guys haven't been to SXSW most free shows are 21+ so finding ones I could get into was a little tiring and for most the lines were so long we just ended up watching street performers. I enjoyed just walking around and exploring but I'm sure next year when I'm 21 it'll be so much easier and fun. Hope you all are having a great weekend and I'll talk more about my trip later! Byee <3

You can check out the Asoct + Hart blog (here) and Amanda's shop (here)

Pop Shop Houston

So recently I just found out that Houston has pop shop events throughout the year, and today I went to my first one. I advise everyone who lives in Houston to go to at least one, there's a variety of pieces to chose from and the shop owners put so much work into their art. And did I mention its free admission? There were so many independent artists and such beautiful pieces. Not only were there goods but also food trucks, live music, and a henna station. I'm so proud of myself for remembering to bring my camera to take pictures! I'd also like to say that I have the most supportive friends, lately I've been going on adventures with my friend Trish whom joined me today. She was sweet enough to take my pictures and come along to try new things with me. I wish I could've bought a lot more of the handmade goods but I was able to snag a cute shirt from one of my favorite bloggers/shop owners at Sun Child. I'll be posting a picture this week in my cute tee.  Overall great day and I can't wait to go to more of these shops.

Bye deerlings <3

It's raining, It's pouring

I ordered this adorable pinafore online from ASOS (here) in the sale section and on top that had an extra 20% off promo code so I couldn't wait to get it in the mail and style it. I've seen similar ones at XXI and Urban Outfitters but I wanted one with a thicker material so that I could layer it for winter. This one is perfect and a great length. I have difficulties find dresses that are long enough for me which is crazy because I'm only 5'7 but I swear every time I order a dress online it ends up looking like a tunic on me and I have to throw tights on just to feel comfortable wearing it out. I love that this one has a real pocket in the front and that the straps are adjustable so it fits like a glove. Btw, it's been raining for the past two days and I decided to wear my favorite suede wedges to walk around downtown and got them soaked. A lesson to everyone spray protector on your suede shoes so you don't ruin them like I did mine!
Thanks for reading, bye deerlings <3

Welcome to Chinatown

I was lost but now I am found, yesterday I discovered Chinatown and the Harwin district. Living in Houston my whole life I had only heard about the magical place where one could buy extremely cheap accessories and find stores filled with Sanrio cuteness. I nearly passed out from how many cute plush animals and tiny..well everything was that I saw. I was expecting traditional building structures and bright decorations to cover the area(like I had seen in Sex and the City) but was surprised with what looked like any other part of Houston.  Each plaza had a huge selection of restaurants, clothing stores, and markets. I was able to get a taste of the Chinese culture and try new foods with friends. I cant wait to go back and explore the other plazas!
Until my next post, bye babes <3

Today I had the joy of experiencing some much needed time with my best friend who took these lovely pictures of me. I got to try strawberry Italian cream soda and ventured out around the downtown area so I'd have to say it was a good day. I decided to wear something light enough to walk around in and opted for my signature combat boots that I wear everywhere. The weather in Texas is so amazing right now I can't even explain it, after two days of rain there's this nice breeze and I can actually tolerate being outside for more than five minutes. Expect some more outfit post and even a cameo of my photographer!

Bye deerlings <3

For my first post I wanted to show what I would usually wear to work or just to hang out in. I consider my everyday style to be pretty basic and laid back. I've also started to incorporate a lot of flannels into my outfits just to give it that relaxed look and it definitely works great with adding a little tom boyish feel. I'm excited to transition into fall since this Texas heat is killing my layering game.
Until my next post, byeeeee! <3
