Hello deerlings, it's been awhile since I've had an outfit post so I thought I'd go ahead and get back on track! I wen't thrifting with my friend Shelby of Uncommombeing Sunday and thought it'd be good to show everyone what I usually wear on a busy day. This is my general comfy style with addition to the New Balance's which I never wear but there's something fun about adding a little sporty touch to a casual outfit. I had worked a morning shift so I had been up since seven and right after I got out we met and tried to get a few pictures before the sun went down. I would definitely consider this an "errand" or "comfy girl" go to outfit. This was a great choice to go thrifting in, I always try to go in something simple so I can easily try on clothes and imagine how I would style it. I found the perfect trench coat to go with the shoes that I was wearing and a girly kimono type cardigan. I'm excited to start mixing in these pieces and showing you guys how I style it. I've also been wanting to go more towards classic pieces, lately I've been inspired by Audrey Hepburn and Alexa Chung. I watched Breakfast At Tiffany's recently(I had never seen the whole movie) and fell in love with Audrey's character. I love how simple her style was but it was very elegant and classy. I'm constantly changing my style and finding different fashion inspirations but that's the fun part of buying new clothes and getting dressed, you have a chance to channel different emotions and time periods. You may have also noticed my hair color, I'm a brunette again! After seeing my hair in pictures and outside I saw it was turning orange and some of you may know I don't like red-orangish color on me. So as soon as I can get together with my friend Lauren of My Damn Curls we'll record the highly requested hair care routine video and talk about my hair coloring experience! Until next time, byeeee <3
I'm so excited to share some pictures from the instameet I went to on Sunday since this was my very first one! I've heard of the event and saw there was one months ago but unfortunately after it already happened. If you aren't familiar with instameet's its pretty much what it sounds like, a group of people living in a certain area meet up(mine being Houston). The purpose is to grow the Instagram community and help you socialize with people you may never have the chance to. I met so many beautiful and sweet people and we are all following each other on Instagram to keep in touch. There's already plans for another instameet this month on the 25th. For this one we met downtown and walked around taking pictures of each other and our little adventure. It was nice being able to hang out with creative and like minded people without feeling too out of my comfort zone. Every single person I met was so welcoming and friendly. I can't wait for the next one and hopefully I wont forget the film for my Holga this time! All these pictures were taken by Cary Fagan, you can check out his work(here). He did such a great job at capturing the event and he has such a cool style I wish I would've had time to have taken some pictures of him. His new website is launching tonight at 8:30pm so I'm eager to see the film he made and more photography.
Hello beauties! I hope everyone is having a great New Year so far, I know its only been a week but its never too early to start the year off with a better attitude or positive vibes. I've been working like crazy so I've been a little grumpy but being able to have a little time to put together another post is helping. I bought this cute dress from Forever 21 and it reminds me of the tapestry off a couch, which sounds bad but I love it! I'm into granny prints and fabrics so when I saw this gem in the sale section I grabbed it and fell in love instantly. I saw this picture on tumblr of a girl with a fro wearing something similar but hers was made of denim and she paired it with a similar fuzzy sweater and all I could think is "that's so me!" So you can image how happy I was when I saw how adorable the two looked together. In case you guys were wondering it was 30 degrees when I took these pictures and my face and legs were frozen by the time I got back in my car. It was totally worth it though, right? On another note, I just want to take the time to say how much I appreciate you guys for keeping up with me! I haven't had this blog for that long and I've already made some new friends(I do consider my readers friends) super cheesy, I know. I hope 2014 will bring me more adventures and advances for my blog. My goal is to aim high and not be scared to put myself out there and thanks to all of you I'm already at a good start. Until my next post, bye <333
Also thank you Lauren for taking my pictures! Check out her hair blog (here)
