Baby, It's Cold Outside
Hello beauties! First off, I hope everyone had a nice holiday and got some fun gifts. I spent all of last week working and finishing getting parts of presents for Christmas. I spent my whole paycheck plus a little of my savings getting gifts for my family and friends so now its time to work and recover from that. I haven't mentioned this but I take pictures for my friends blog, her name is Shelby and she runs uncommonbeing. We both are still trying to find photographers so we can post more often. In the meantime we take each others pictures to the best of our ability. We met up last week so I could take some shots of her and ended up at the mall so she could finish getting gifts, and let me tell you going to the mall two days before Christmas Eve is a mistake. Thank goodness we weren't in there for long though. She came with me to run some errands and we ended up spending the whole day together and we both would like to start making DIY post and maybe some videos of hauls. I'm even thinking of doing outfit of the day videos but there's still the need of a photographer/videographer. So hopefully we can find some freelance photographers to work with and get some more content on our blogs. Sometimes I forget that I should talk about my outfit as well as life in these posts, but anyways this is what I wore when we went out shopping. I'm kinda obsessed with cutesy overalls and baby doll coats so this outfit was a great representation of me on a daily base. Also, if you guys would like to see my daily outfits or details that I have for each day follow me on instagram (here)! I post a lot more there since it's a little easier to do it on the spot.Bye deerlings <3

So, some of you may already know...I colored my hair! I finally got rid of the reddish brown I had in my hair from July. This is my third time dying my hair so I guess the third time is really the charm. I mentioned that I would start including post about my hair since most of my readers are naturals and want to hear more about it. I got this color done on Monday, it took about four hours to get this end result. I have a lot of hair and on top of that it's super thick so my stylist did the coloring in a three step process; she first lifted my color that had grown out, then lifted my roots, and then finally put the toner with the color that I wanted. I got the coloring done at Aveda Salon which is known for their color specialists so I wasn't worried at all. This is the second time that I've gotten it done professionally, the first time was in June but the stylist underestimated the level needed to lift my natural black hair color so there was no difference. The second time my friends used boxed Shea Moisture hair dye in the color light blonde to give me the reddish brown color I had up until now. This time I wanted to go a lot lighter and I used pictures of Rihanna and Beyonce for the shade of golden brown that I was going for and I love the color I got. I did ask to have my roots darker so it wouldn't look too unnatural and once my roots do grow out it will have an ombre effect so I don't have to get it touched up too often. Bye deerlings <3

I know I've mentioned before the weather here in Houston, but let me tell you it is no joke. Just two days ago it was in the seventies and now its in the forties. I wore this outfit to go to the mall with a friend. I'm not big on wearing jackets but I definitely was freezing through out the day, I layered what I consider is a basic outfit. I've had these tights for a year and couldn't figure how to style them without looking like I was wearing a costume. I'm starting to get more comfortable mixing prints and patterns, this look is just a quick thrown together kinda look which I love. I like when an outfit just puts itself together and somehow works. You guys know I like a chill look and this is definitely very laid back. If you noticed my hair is different, I'm a little obsessed with wearing two buns now. For this look I just blew out my hair and then made two little ponytails and turned them into messy buns. Also, if you follow me on instagram (here) you know I live in this jacket. I can't tell you how much I wear it but I mean it was only five bucks from a thrift store!
Hope you guys are having a nice weekend! Bye <33

So recently I just found out that Houston has pop shop events throughout the year, and today I went to my first one. I advise everyone who lives in Houston to go to at least one, there's a variety of pieces to chose from and the shop owners put so much work into their art. And did I mention its free admission? There were so many independent artists and such beautiful pieces. Not only were there goods but also food trucks, live music, and a henna station. I'm so proud of myself for remembering to bring my camera to take pictures! I'd also like to say that I have the most supportive friends, lately I've been going on adventures with my friend Trish whom joined me today. She was sweet enough to take my pictures and come along to try new things with me. I wish I could've bought a lot more of the handmade goods but I was able to snag a cute shirt from one of my favorite bloggers/shop owners at Sun Child. I'll be posting a picture this week in my cute tee. Overall great day and I can't wait to go to more of these shops.

About three weeks ago I did an interview on the Black Girl With Long Hair website and got such a great feedback that I wanted to share it here on my blog. I was surprised and grateful to be asked to talk about my hair and be considered a fashion icon as well a natural hair inspiration. I get tons of questions about my hair and am constantly asked how I style it. I'm flattered that my hair has a positive response with others so I was more than happy to explain how I maintain my fro. For those who don't know what natural hair is, it's unprocessed hair meaning that it isn't altered with chemicals( i.e. relaxers, perms, texturizers) so it's pretty much the texture of your hair when it's not being changed by heat stylers or chemicals. The definition of being natural can mean various things some believe that coloring or straightening your hair doesn't make you natural but I consider chemical treatments to be the only thing that wouldn't make your hair natural. I'm not someone who pushes or thinks everyone needs to be natural, I think that you should do whatever you want to your hair. I mean, it is yours so how you choose to style it is up to you. I do love seeing other women and young girls embracing their natural hair and seeing all the different types of curl patterns. Deciding to stop relaxing and straighten my hair has made me more appreciate of natural beauty overall. I will definitely do more post specifically about my hair and try some fun styles for those naturals who read my blog!
Bye guys <3

I consider my blog to be lifestyle and fashion so I'm slowly going to start posting more about my life and my hobbies. One being photography, nothing fancy just a little fun side project I do with my film cameras. I bought a Holga two years ago and have had the same roll of film since. I tend to forget to bring it with me when I travel or do anything exciting but somehow I ended up finally finishing the roll. I got about twenty four good pictures out of the whole 36 images. When I first started using the camera I wasn't aware it didn't have a flash so I lost out on those pictures but still managed to get these gems. These are just a few of my favorites I wanted to share with you deers(never getting tired of my puns). I suggest looking up some videos and researching if you do buy a Holga or any film camera! The film I bought was made specifically for Holga's which is a bummer because no local store such as Walgreens or Walmart can develop it. It is the general 35mm film but it doesn't say c-41 on the roll of film so I had to take it to a photo lab and get it developed there. I live in Houston so the closest one I could find was Aker Image, the ladies there were very helpful and did an amazing job with keeping the quality of my pictures. They put them on a cd so I could print them out later. I'm currently playing around with my Lomography fish eye camera so once I finish a roll I'll be sure to post a few pictures. Bye deerlings! <3

This is my first post about jeans and these are literally the best jeans I've bought in a long time. I don't usually wear a lower fit but I was surprised on how these sit right on my waist. All the jeans that I currently have are high waisted that I bought from Urban Outfitters, don't get me wrong I love them but I find it hard to wear them with longer shirts especially when I want to tuck the front of the shirts in. I bought the one's that I'm wearing from Forever 21 last week and can I just say how their fall clothes looks exactly like American Apparels? Seriously, I bought a few pieces from there already like my circle skirt in a previous post and some other goodies I'll show you guys soon. For anyone who has a similar shape as I do I recommend trying jeans from Old Navy, Urban, and Forever 21. Bye deerlings <33

Pinafore Dress-ASOS/Gold chain-Chinatown/Wedges-UO |
I ordered this adorable pinafore online from ASOS (here) in the sale section and on top that had an extra 20% off promo code so I couldn't wait to get it in the mail and style it. I've seen similar ones at XXI and Urban Outfitters but I wanted one with a thicker material so that I could layer it for winter. This one is perfect and a great length. I have difficulties find dresses that are long enough for me which is crazy because I'm only 5'7 but I swear every time I order a dress online it ends up looking like a tunic on me and I have to throw tights on just to feel comfortable wearing it out. I love that this one has a real pocket in the front and that the straps are adjustable so it fits like a glove. Btw, it's been raining for the past two days and I decided to wear my favorite suede wedges to walk around downtown and got them soaked. A lesson to everyone spray protector on your suede shoes so you don't ruin them like I did mine!
Thanks for reading, bye deerlings <3

I was lost but now I am found, yesterday I discovered Chinatown and the Harwin district. Living in Houston my whole life I had only heard about the magical place where one could buy extremely cheap accessories and find stores filled with Sanrio cuteness. I nearly passed out from how many cute plush animals and tiny..well everything was that I saw. I was expecting traditional building structures and bright decorations to cover the area(like I had seen in Sex and the City) but was surprised with what looked like any other part of Houston. Each plaza had a huge selection of restaurants, clothing stores, and markets. I was able to get a taste of the Chinese culture and try new foods with friends. I cant wait to go back and explore the other plazas!
Until my next post, bye babes <3

Anyone who knows me knows that I live in overalls, seriously. I wear my thrifted kid ones at least once a week. I've been seeing them paired with high heels for a high fashion look and love it. I would dress mine up if I had anywhere nice to go but for now I just through a crop top under them and tie a flannel around my waist, and bam I'm ready for the day! I just purchased a floral print overall dress from Forever 21 and am thinking of posting it soon so keep an eye out for how I style it.
Bye babes <3

So excited to share that I've made a Polvore account so I can actually show you guys how I would style pieces(that I can't afford but love) and show you what I'm being inspired by! I'm getting really into floral print trousers and pants, this is how I would pair mine. Nice and simple with some layered jewelry. I think these pants would be so flattering on and give legs for days, you could always layer up the crop top with a blazer or cardigan to give it a more fall feel. Also if anyone is interested in the products you can see where to buy them by clicking the photo!
Until my next post, byeeee! <3

Crop Top-XXI/High Waisted Shorts & Sunnies- Urban Outfitters/ Boots-Ross(surpsing. I KNOW!) |
Today I had the joy of experiencing some much needed time with my best friend who took these lovely pictures of me. I got to try strawberry Italian cream soda and ventured out around the downtown area so I'd have to say it was a good day. I decided to wear something light enough to walk around in and opted for my signature combat boots that I wear everywhere. The weather in Texas is so amazing right now I can't even explain it, after two days of rain there's this nice breeze and I can actually tolerate being outside for more than five minutes. Expect some more outfit post and even a cameo of my photographer!

Crop Top-Urban Outfitters/Tie dye short-Urban Outfitters/ Dr. Martens- Macy's |
For my first post I wanted to show what I would usually wear to work or just to hang out in. I consider my everyday style to be pretty basic and laid back. I've also started to incorporate a lot of flannels into my outfits just to give it that relaxed look and it definitely works great with adding a little tom boyish feel. I'm excited to transition into fall since this Texas heat is killing my layering game.
Until my next post, byeeeee! <3
